Summer 2018 This month I asked a bunch of spectacular new coaches-in-training (SeattleCoach Cohort #30 to be exact) what they thought I should talk about in my little advice column.

This is so very interesting. Another chance to really reflect on the nuances between advising and coaching. I love the examples of the questions to really highlight the difference. I wonder if people are self-coaching when we give advice, they take it and do an experiment and reflect on the outcomes...different than just doing what we tell them to. Hmmmm

I’m in the middle of negotiating with a client who defines coaching differently than the ICF, ie, they would expect me to do a bit of advising as well. This has helped me get some clarity on how I might pitch to the client how I think it could work, and how I might create agreements with the students. Thanks. I may have some follow up for you!
