A few comments from participants in our first CFL in Health Care . . .
There is a crescendo of interest in coaching in medicine.
Patients love it too when we show up as a coach.
There are implications for physician mental health.
Patricia Burgin, MCC SeattleCoach Founder and Head Coach
I’ve found that SeattleCoach has not only helped me to be a more effective and in-tune leader, but has also helped me bring a deeper sense of soul and purpose to my work.
Patty is a people powerhouse. She energizes, motivates, and inspires daily. And she has cultivated and continues to grow a Seattle area community of professional coaches and coaching leaders that I am so proud to be part of.
This has been a phenomenal experience and I am SO especially grateful to you for this amazing opportunity! I am truly hoping to continue along this coaching journey.
"A Coaching Culture"
You've probably heard those words--and that aspiration--a lot lately. In coaching cultures, leaders increase their effectiveness in delivering their subject matter expertise, along with their ability to give direction, mentor, inspire, and teach. They are more curious, unhurried, and connected. And they reverse a trend that we've all observed ("people join great companies and leave bad bosses").
Here's what we know: There's never been a better time for leaders to foster the growth of their coaching cultures.
Coaching for Leaders is more than a brief "tips, techniques, and tools" workshop. Our training and development is "coaching-infused" and will change how you think about leading. We'll help you to find your personal coaching style and presence.
The Story Behind Coaching for Leaders in Health Care . . .
We'll be in touch about how to apply for the next Cohort. And we'll send you Patricia Burgin's white paper, "What Happens When Leaders Learn to Coach?"

The Remarkable Members of Coaching for Leaders in Health Care, Cohort #1
And we think you'll love listening to these two inspirational physician coaches . . .
A few years ago, my voicemail and email started filling up with messages from nice people in healthcare. Turns out our pal, SeattleCoach Carlos Pellegrini, MD had dropped our name in his interview with General Surgery News. So on December 1, 2021, SeattleCoach hosted an "Intro to Coaching in Health Care Seminar" during which I interviewed Dr. Pellegrini. Click here to listen to our fascinating sixty-minutes.
And click here to listen to SeattleCoach Bob Sawin, MD as he presents "A Surgeon's Reflections on Love" to the North Pacific Surgical Association. I love Bob's heart.
A few more observations from other SeattleCoaches in Health Care . . .
Thank you for providing me this opportunity to grow in a whole new direction! I will be forever grateful!
Leaders in health care need an alternative to being directive. Our work is to develop a coaching culture. Maybe shift away from the hierarchical nature of surgical education.
Coaching vastly increases the resources in our environment by engaging all of the stakeholders.
With coaching we can engage the wisdom of the group--especially important with team-based care.
There are implications for physician mental health.
Thank you for guiding us through an incredible learning journey.
