“Sometimes
change
is glacial! That is, big, cold and slow!
But
Patty, your coaching is helping. I’ll still
be grateful when I’m seventy!"

Stage
1: “Precontemplation.”
This is where your key strategy is
to think, listen to your life, your body and maybe write about the
potential
benefits of your emerging idea.
Stage 2: "Contemplation."
This is where you take an honest look at what's standing in your way,
what the possibilities might be if you really move forward into this
new direction.
Stage 3: “Preparation.”
At
this stage, your key moves are to envision, experiment, interview,
start make a
plan, think through the
details and maybe even tell someone.
Stage 4: “Take Action.” Now you begin to put your plan
into
motion, one step at a time. A key here is to think of ways to make your
environment a long-term ally.
Stage
5: “Maintenance.”
You’re a few months into your change! Here’s where you work out the
kinks, take note of the benefits you’re experiencing and maybe even
accept a great new part of your identity!
Stage 6: “Termination.” You’ve created a "new normal."
You’ve ended some old patterns in your life and replaced them to some
very gratifying new ones. Your life just got better.
