According to yesterday’s Wall Street Journal*, this dance is getting more stressful than ever.
Here’s a big reason: A couple of studies asked a similar question of both business leaders and chief academic officers in US colleges and universities.
Both groups of leaders were asked to agree or disagree about how prepared graduates were with the skills and competencies required for workforce success.
- Academic leaders answered 96% “extremely or somewhat confident” that their grads were ready,
- But only 11% of business leaders thought so.
We think this is where coaching for recent graduates comes in. So every year we offer a special season of coaching for young men and women who are stepping into this stressful dance.
If you are a soon-to-be-graduate, or if you love one, please review our page about this year’s SeattleCoach Career GPS. Each of our coaches has experienced both business success and professional coach training. Each one is terrific on both fronts.
Then if you think this kind of focus could help you or your soon-to-be-grad, be in touch. We'll connect you with one of our coaches and schedule a time to ask each other questions.
P.S. If you're thinking, "I've experienced business success. What's the best way to learn the skills of a professional coach?" We've got something for you too. It starts in a couple weeks. Click here to find out more.
