What
qualifies me to
help you to make big changes?
Whether
I'm working with a team, a company, an individual or couple; whether
it's
in my office, at your location or at an off-site retreat, workshop or
adventure,
my approach is to coach intuitively, optimistically and honestly, using
a combination of factors:
1.
A clear
understanding of how lasting positive change happens with individuals
and organizations,
2. Strengths-based
theories of psychology, communication, talent management and leadership,
3. My life experience
and training,
4. And of course the
agenda and performance goals brought by each of my clients.
I
tend to go with my natural curiosity and intuition as I get started
with clients,
helping each one to
identify his or her core values, gifts, passions and stuck places.
Maybe we enlist the wisdom and feedback of colleagues and friends.
Then,
together we create clear goals and get to work on them. As I listen to
them, my
clients are among my best teachers.
My
goal is to help each individual or organization to
demystify what it means to create both clear direction and success,
relationally and professionally.

Etcetera
. . .
Through twenty-five years of leadership
experience--as both a leader and as a coach of leaders--I've trained
and mentored several thousand individuals and their groups toward more
effective performance and meaning.
As
one of 1,700 Coaches Credentialed Internationally
by the International Coach Federation, my
practice takes me to amazing teams, individuals and large
audiences that are ready to deepen their experience of and contribution
to life. In addition to coaching and consulting, I have continued
my long-standing work
as a pastoral counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist in the Seattle area.
Before
launching this work in
1993, I served in the executive leadership of an international
university ministry. For twenty years I traveled the world
speaking, teaching and consulting with what I call "the most powerful
one
percent"
of the world's population--the university students who become the
leaders of each new generation. My faith still deeply informs my work.
I've
received master's
degrees in Applied Behavioral Science, and in Theology, and am a
Clinical Member of the The
American Association
for Marriage and Familiy
Therapy and a Professional Certified Coach, credentialed by the International
Coach
Federation.
And,
I make my home in Seattle
where I live, love, work and play in a great life with my partner Kari
(an emergency
veterinarian),
and thus,
with a revolving assortment of creatures.
In
addition
to
my time
spent
coaching, consulting and counseling, I've been coached myself as a
competitive rower and past president of Seattle's Interlochen Rowing
Club.
